Polk Reserves Moving to D2L

To increase efficiency, security and student/faculty convenience, library staff will now post reserve files including articles from journals, chapters from books, syllabi, and links to records for physical reserves directly into your Desire2Learn course.

To continue to use our reserve services, instructors must give Polk Library's reserve staff permission to access/modify content on D2L.  To do that, please submit a “D2L access agreement form” with your first reserve request to ensure timely processing of your reserve materials.  This agreement form will cover all future reserve requests and courses and so only needs to be submitted once.  This permission agreement grants reserve staff the ability to add a module (folder) to your D2L content section for the purpose of posting and managing electronic reserve items.  This module, "Resources from Polk Library", will be the only section on your D2L course that the reserve staff will add, edit or maintain.

Teaching the same course? Documents that have been on electronic reserve in the past can be posted to D2L. Please submit a “D2L access agreement form” and then email with the titles that should be posted along with the course number the documents should be listed under.

Reserve staff aims to provide the same fast turn-around time that faculty have come to expect but initially there may be some delay in getting documents posted to D2L. Reserve requests received by Wednesday, August 6, 2014, will be available the first day of Fall 2014 classes.

Of course, instructors who already use D2L and would like to manage their own readings may certainly do so. Reserve staff can provide copies of previously used electronic files.
