Polk replaces Oxford Reference with Credo
In an effort to improve its on-line reference tools, Polk Library recently replaced its Oxford Reference subscription with Credo Reference. Credo provides quick access to hundreds of highly regarded encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri and more, all from an easy-to-search interface. Of particular note are its extensive topic pages (over 16,000!): great for students looking for an overview on their topic before beginning their research.
Polk is confident that Credo will provide a better experience for most users with an easier search interface and an end to hits for materials for which Polk has no access. This has been a perennial problem for some time.

Despite this change, however, Polk STILL has direct access (via Search@UW) to many of Oxford reference titles, including but not limited to:
Oxford Classical Dictionary [4th edition]
The Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium
Oxford Dictionary of Political Quotations
Oxford Dictionary of the Middle Ages
Oxford Dictionary of the Renaissance
The Oxford Encyclopedia of American Literature
The Oxford Encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt
The Oxford Encyclopedia of Economic History
The Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America [2nd ed.]
Oxford Encyclopedia of the Islamic World
The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern World
The Oxford Encyclopedia of the Reformation
The Oxford Encyclopedia of Theatre and Performance
The Oxford Encyclopedia of Women in World History
The Oxford International Encyclopedia of Peace
