A new website called OpenBook Wisconsin has been released to provide transparency for Wisconsin Government finances.
A new website called OpenBook Wisconsin has been released to provide transparency for Wisconsin Government finances. The site which is currently in beta form provides information on the finances of state agencies, the legislature, the courts, and the University of Wisconsin System. The information given covers the year 2008 going forward to the present month. This beta version of the web site has 25 million entries. The website states that the database is searchable by state agency, expense (expenditure) category and vendor by fiscal year. Future additions include salary and fringe benefits of employees of state agencies, the legislature, and the University of Wisconsin system. There are also plans to add financial information related to state grants and contracts awarded by the state. Here is the link to the website: http://openbook.wi.gov/
