Children's Book Council (CBC)
The Children's Book Council (CBC) is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to encouraging literacy and the use and enjoyment of children's books, and is the official sponsor of Young People's Poetry Week and Children's Book Week every year. Excellent directory of resources for K-12 teachers and administrators.  Includes curriculum materials, educational policy, lesson ideas, articles written by education experts, employment listings, monthly site reviews, information on how to make the best use of technology in the classroom, and access to USA Today updates of worldwide education news.

ERIC (The Educational Resources Information Center)
ERIC is the world's largest source of educational information.  The Department of Education is in the process of reorganizing the structure of ERIC, and the clearinghouses which have filtered and organized a huge body of resources in education will be shut down, to be replaced by a centralized editing group. This move has been widely criticized, but the DOE is going forward with its plan. At this time, the site is still enormously useful.
