Call Numbers

Libraries typically organize books by call numbers. They use either the Library of Congress system or the Dewey Decimal system. Here at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, we primarily use the Library of Congress system. An exception to this is found in the K-12 nonfiction collection in the EMC; these books are arranged by Dewey numbers.

Where are the special education books typically located?

Library of Congress system: LC1200-1203 & LC3950-4806.5

Dewey Decimal system: 370's
