UW Oshkosh Online Web Based Library Catalog

• Provides access to federal, state, United Nations, and other international documents.
• Most accurately reflects the materials that the Documents center actually owns, although not every document is cataloged.
• Best way to search for Government Documents on Polk's Web based catalog.
• 1.   Select one of the search types
• 2.   Scroll down to the bottom left hand side of the screen to the box that says " limit  your search."
• 3.   Click on the second bulleted choice: "set limits before your search."
• 4.   Scroll down to the bottom of the screen until you get to the selection "Location."
• 5.   Scroll down on the down arrow and select either "state and international documents" for Wisconsin documents, documents from the other fifty U.S. states, Canadian documents, United Nations documents, European Community documents and documents form the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development. Select U.S. documents if you want to limit your search to United States Federal Government Documents.

Catalog of Government Publications

Federal government documents can be accessed through GPO's Catalog of Government Publications, which indexes most of the federal documents distributed to depository libraries. UW Oshkosh is a partial depository, receiving 35% of the documents listed in the G PO Monthly Catalog.
