Faculty Book Selection (How to order a book)
Polk Library allocates funds for faculty-initiated book recommendations and acquisitions. We no longer allocate funds by department for book orders, but instead have a single fund for all faculty requests. All faculty and instructional staff may submit book and media recommendations by sending the information to libraryorders@uwosh.edu or by filling out this form.
If recommendations meet the following four guidelines they will be ordered:
- The title is not currently owned by the library;
- The title is recent, published in the last five years;
- The title costs under $100;
- There are less than four copies of the title available in the UW System through Universal Borrowing;
Orders that fall outside these guidelines will be reviewed on a regular basis giving consideration to the status of the budget, collection balance, and other factors.
