There are several types of requests you can make to get an item and have it held for you at the Circulation Desk at Polk Library. By clicking on the "Get It" tab, you may have one or more options available to you:
- Local Request
- If an item that Polk Library owns is currently unavailable, this option will place a hold on it for you. If the item is available, our staff will retrieve it for you and hold it at the Circulation Desk for you to pick up.
- UW Request
- If Polk Library does not own an item or it is currently unavailable, you can request it from another UW-System library and have it waiting for you at the Circulation Desk ready to be checked out in 2-5 days.
- Interlibrary Loan
- This option will appear for journal articles if you use the "expand my results" option in Search@UW. If Polk Library does not subscribe to a journal electronically, you may request a copy of the article through Interlibrary Loan.
You will be notified by email when the item is available to be picked up at the Circulation Desk. The email you receive will indicate how long the item will be held for you to pick it up.
