Citing sources and using information
This module teaches students the importance of using information effectively, the different uses of citations, and how to distinguish between different parts of a citation. By the end of this module, students should be able to:
- Understand why it is important to cite information, both from an ethical standpoint as well as a practical standpoint
- Distinguish between different elements in a citation
- Determine a source's citation elements in a decontextualized version of that source (i.e. a book chapter online, or article on eReserve)
- Different methods of citing sources to support an argument
