I received a B.A. in English from the University of Northern Iowa. I received a master's degree in Library and Information Studies (MILS) from the University of Michigan.

Professional Background

I started at Polk Library in 1996 as a reference librarian. My position at Polk Library has evolved over the past years. As the Library Director, I lead efforts to develop a strategic vision regarding library and information services for the campus. I represent the library on campus and in the UW System. I oversee library budgets and work with library staff to provide a collection that serves the campus.

University and Community Involvement

I participate in many administrative meetings, such as the Provost's Administrative Council and the Chancellor's Administrative Staff. I also represent the library by working at many campus events in order to connect with students, such as the Chancellor's Late Night Breakfast, Homecoming. and Bye Gosh Fest. In the UW System, I have served on committees such as the Learning Analytics Task Force, the Digital Preservation Task Force and have co-chaired the Council of UW System Libraries Conference.
