Together We Make It Better Campaign
Purpose
In fall of 2010, the LGBTQ Resource Center devised The Together We Make It Better Campaign. The purpose of this Campaign is to acknowledge that addressing the severely negative effects of homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia on LGBTQ youth is everyone's responsibility. Although we have long known that such harassment is a major component in the high youth suicide rates in the queer community, the recent media publicity of these suicides have reminded us that we must act now.
The LGBTQ Resource Center hopes their Together We Make It Better video series will motivate people to make a difference in the lives of LGBTQ youth and show that we here at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh are always looking for ways to improve our campus climate and insure that we support our LGBTQ students.

Together We Make It Better I
The Together We Make It Better I video serves as an introduction to the Campaign. In it, our students discuss their realities and how others can make it better for them. Then, we discuss how we are already making it better on UW Oshkosh's campus. It is our hope that the Together We Make It Better I video would inspire other organizations and institutions to create their own Together We Make It Better Campaigns.
Together We Make It Better II
The Together We Make It Better II video is an depth look at what UW Oshkosh does as a community to make it better for our LGBTQ students. In this video, we highlight the UW Oshkosh Student Affairs Departments and what they do to create a more supportive climate on this campus.
