Kinesiology and Athletic Training

The Exercise and Sport Science major utilizes a strong scientific base and experiential learning components for students interested in the field of Kinesiology, including careers in fitness, health, and wellness.

The Strength and Conditioning major utilizes a curriculum grounded in evidence-based research and a variety of clinical experiences to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to develop training programs with the primary goal of improving athletic or sport performance.

 

The Rehabilitation Science major utilizes a strong scientific base that prepares students for graduate programs in athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and chiropractic medicine. 

The CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program is committed to equipping high-caliber graduates to provide quality health care to physically active populations in a multitude of employment settings.

Healthy Titans is a fitness and wellness program open to all UWO employees, spouses/domestic partners and retirees. Our program offers access to the Albee Fitness and Strength Training Center, group exercise classes and personal training with our student fitness specialists. 

The Sport Performance & Injury Research Laboratory (SPIRL) is a center for research on sports training, sport-related injury, and athlete recovery.

Our Mission

The members of the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh are dedicated to providing a superior educational environment for students interested in exercise and healthcare related fields. We offer excellent, high-impact undergraduate majors in Exercise & Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, and Rehabilitation Science, along with a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT).

Healthy Titans

The Healthy Titans fitness program is open to all UWO employees, spouses/domestic partners and retirees. Our program offers access to the Albee Fitness and Strength Training Center, group exercise classes and personal training with our student fitness specialists. We offer a variety of group exercise classes including Yoga, Total Titan, Group Cycling, TRX, Cardio Dance Fusion & Step Aerobics.
