Dr. John SwansonJohn Swanson, MD

Dr. John Swanson joined UW Oshkosh as one of two physicians in the Student Health Center in August 2001. He has also assumed duties as Team Physician for Intercollegiate Athletics and Medical Director of the Athletic Training Education Program. Dr. Swanson assists with coverage of home football games and the instruction of the Evaluation of Medical Conditions and Illnesses course. He began his career as a Staff Pediatrician with Affinity Medical Group. Dr. Swanson received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed his medical residency at the University of Michigan. He is licensed by the States of Wisconsin and Michigan and holds certificates from the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a resident of Neenah, WI.

Pat McKenzie, MD

Dr. Patrick McKenzie

Dr. Pat McKenzie is an Oshkosh native and has served as the Orthopedic Consultant for UW Oshkosh Titan Athletics since 1995. Dr. McKenzie has a medical practice in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he also serves as Medical Director and team Orthopedic Surgeon for the NFL's Green Bay Packers. He has been in that capacity since 1992. Dr. McKenzie specializes in Orthopedics and Arthroscopic Surgery. He has practiced in Green Bay for the past ten years. Dr. McKenzie contributes to the Athletic Training Education Program in the form of guest lectures, in-services, and procuring other physicians to contribute in a similar capacity.

The UW Oshkosh Athletic Training Program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), with our current continuing accreditation cycle during the 2018-2019 academic year.
