| Outstanding Alumni
The journalism department has more outstanding alumni than any other department at UW Oshkosh. Graduates from the department are employed in high-level jobs in all areas of mass communications. The outstanding graduates from UWO are located from coast to coast in the United States. A few recent outstanding alumni include: Jeff Griffith, ’87, employed in New York City, founder of ATOMIC magazine; Kerry Brown, ’84, a film/commercial director employed at UNCLE in Los Angeles; Chuck Monn and Jeff Maki, ’96, art director and copy writer employed at TBWA/ChiatDay in L.A.; Mary E. Mulloy, ’88, media planner employed at Ogilvy & Mather, New York City; Pat Stiegman, ’88, VP, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; Jim VandeHei, ’85, Washington Post at Washington D.C.; Paul Anger, ’74, editor of DeMoines Register. These alumni are recipients of either the Outstanding Young Alumni or Distinguished Alumni awards given by UWO.
