    Trent Scott, President (2012)

    Trent Scott has been teaching English at Oshkosh West High School for 12 years and has also served as adviser of the Index during that time period. Trent originally graduated from Carroll College with a double major in journalism and English before working as a free lance sports writer out of Milwaukee for a year and a half. Following that stint, he migrated north to attend UW-Oshkosh in order to gain certification to teach English. Since that time, he has completed his MA in literature and also taken on department head duties at West.

    Susan Carlson (2012)

      Susan is the Green Bay East High School newspaper adviser of The Hi-Light. She has worked at the Post-Crescent News Record as an editorial clerk and is now an English teacher. She enjoys reading, swimming, walking, jogging, camping with her family, quilting and attending her children's sporting events.

    Jason Cummings

    Lucas Cleary teaches English at Plymouth High School. He has been the adviser of the student newspaper, Hi-Lights, for seven years. As a board member Cleary said he hopes to make the NEWSPA conference the best experience for young journalists. He enjoys running, reading, hiking, camping and carpentry.

    Kay Huxford (2012)
    Purple Parrot (newspaper)

    Kay Huxford earned her undergraduate degree from UW-Green Bay and two masters degrees from Portland State University. She is co-adviser of The Purple Parrot at Green Bay West High School and loves the opportunity the newspaper offers students for a prominent, visible academic co-curricular. She likes gardening, sports, photography, hanging out with her two boys and generally anything that she can do outdoors.

    As of 2006, Rick has been teaching for 22 years. The last 13 years, Rick has been teaching at Neenah High School. He is the yearbook advisor of the Rocket and also serves as a technology instructor and the internship coordinator. He enjoys taking photographs and long walks and wood working.

    Shannon Kuehmichel, a 2002 UW-Eau Claire graduate, teaches English and publications at Berlin High School. She is the newspaper adviser of Red ‘n’ Green and says she loves seeing her students’ work in print. She also likes ballet class, bicycling and reading.

    Sara Marquardt teaches English at Oshkosh North High School. She serves as the editorial adviser for Reflections yearbook and the business adviser for the North Star newspaper. Sara graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2000 and Marian University in 2005. She likes to crochet as well as write books, poetry and short stories.

    Rebecca Rousseau teaches at Gillett High School and is an adjunct instructor at Rasmussen College. She is the newspaper adviser and loves to work with a variety of students who normally do not participate in extra-curricular activities. She loves to read, travel, garden, watch movies and spend time with her two sons.
