Students interested in working in the advertising field should enroll in the advertising emphasis offered by the journalism department. This emphasis focuses on teaching the student the skills necessary to create advertising campaigns and materials such as direct mail pieces, brochures and print advertising.
Please view the curriculum worksheet for majors (pdf) for information on courses by emphasis. Students enrolled between Fall, 2011 through Spring, 2015, see the worksheet located here for requirements: majors (pdf).
“The UW Oshkosh journalism department not only builds students' necessary skill sets, the professors take the time to place what they teach in context and shed light on the bigger picture. Two words equate what differentiates the UW Oshkosh journalism department from others in the region or nation: excellence and caring.”
John Feld, Account Supervisor
