New Academic Center

The new academic building will incorporate the following “green” measures:

  • 75 percent of construction debris will be diverted from landfills or incinerators.
  • The building will feature safe lighting without light spill pollution.
  • The design will require 20 percent less water usage.
  • Low-volatile organic compound materials will be used for enhanced air quality.
  • Storm water will be managed to reduce runoff.
  • The facility will incorporate salvaged/recycled/rapidly renewable materials.
  • Local materials and resources will be used.
  • The heating and cooling system will be more efficient, saving 40-50 percent.
