Sub-branding: Identification of Colleges and Other Individual Units
![]() |
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is comprised of many different colleges, departments, units and programs, and in some cases, it is important for them to have a strong individual identity. At the same time, it is essential for each to leverage the identity of the University in order to benefit fully from the connection to this highly respected, comprehensive institution. The strength of the whole lends strength to the individual parts. Accordingly, the brand guidelines allow for combining essential elements of the University brand identity with flexible elements that may be used to enhance department / unit identity.
Colleges at UW OshkoshFor each of the University's four colleges, a version of the wordmark has been developed, incorporating the name of the college in black. Refer to reversed out options on the Colors/Reproduction Web page.
Colleges, departments and units also have the flexibility to place their respective names alongside the University wordmark, with a required vertical line, using the format shown to the right.

Additional Ways to Distinguish Individual Colleges
|
Additional ways to distinguish individual colleges can include consistent use of selected colors from within the University's palette; use of distinctive photographic imagery or technique; and the use of language and style that reflect unique elements of the college's mission and values. Integrated Marketing & Communications will work closely with each college to continue the development of college sub-brands. All University entities are invited to work with IMC to develop identification. |
