About these Brand Guidelines

UW Oshkosh has built a reputation for excellence and innovation, accessibility, inclusiveness and opportunity. That is the core of our University brand.

AboutEffective brands aren't built in a single day by a single person — they're collaboratively discovered and authentically articulated over time. Members of the UW Oshkosh community have worked hard for nearly 140 years to serve the residents of our state, providing affordable, high-quality education. In that time, we have built a reputation for excellence and innovation, accessibility, inclusiveness and opportunity. That is the core of our brand.

Our brand remains central to what we are as an institution and who we are as a campus community today, supporting our recruitment, retention and outreach missions. It is one of the most powerful and valuable assets we have.

We reinforce our brand with every contact we make. Our institutional integrated marketing and communications strategy is one critical element for ensuring those contacts are consistent, genuine and effective. Our brand guidelines were created so that all levels of the University have the information and resources to develop and maintain consistent communications, whether in print, online, via the media or through outreach that supports UW Oshkosh. At the same time, the guidelines are sufficiently flexible to accommodate special circumstances, encourage creativity, and support the branding efforts of University colleges and other units.
