Attention: Extended Deadline Assistant Professor of Music - Orchestra and Applied Cello - 073a.0809Department: Music Requirements (Degree/Experience): Doctorate required or expected by September 2009. Evidence of successful teaching experience in orchestral conducting and applied cello at the undergraduate level expected. Evidence of professional-level cello performance experience expected. Evidence of potential for significant scholarly and/or creative achievement necessary. Responsibilities: Conduct the university orchestra. Teach studio cello. Teach string techniques and/or string methods. Additional classroom teaching may be assigned based on candidate's strengths and department needs. Continued professional development, active student recruitment, student advising, and active participation in professional associations expected. Preferences: Public school teaching and/or youth orchestra conducting experience desirable.
