Assistant Professor (2 positions) - 067a.0809Department: Mathematics Requirements (Degree/Experience): Ph.D. in Mathematics with experience and commitment to mathematics education or a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education (or related field with a minimum of the equivalent of a M.S. in Mathematics); at least two years of experience teaching undergraduate students (may include TA experience); a commitment to and experience with pedagogical practice based on constructivist learning theory; an articulated ongoing program of professional development, including research. Responsibilities: Teach three courses per semester; commitment to quality teaching; curriculum development and assessment, continued professional development activities to include research; service to the University and the department to include advising mathematics majors and minors and teaching mathematics courses for future elementary and middle school teachers. Preferences: Preferences will be given to candidates with research interests that are similar to current faculty. Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduates is essential. Experience with diverse groups is desirable.
