Athletic Training Education Program Director; Tenure-Track Faculty Rank Open - 077c.0809

Requirements (Degree/Experience):

Masters degree in Kinesiology (for appointment at Instructor rank), Doctorate in Kinesiology or related field (for appointment at Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank). BOC certification required, and must be eligible for Wisconsin Licensure.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the program, teach undergraduate classes within the ATEP, maintain scholarly activities as appropriate for rank, and engage in university-wide and professional service activities. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in the Athletic Training major, potentially including but not limited to Orientation to Athletic Training, Medical Terminology, Prevention, Recognition, and Treatment of Injuries, Research Techniques, Senior Thesis in Athletic Training, and Preparation for Professional Practice in Athletic Training. The successful candidate will also provide supervision of athletic training students, advise students, and perform other duties within the athletic training education program.

Preferences:

Ph.D. preferred. A minimum of three years teaching experience in a CAATE accredited program is preferred. Candidates should also have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing athletic trainer. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence along with a line of research resulting in a publication record in refereed journals and presentations at national conferences.
