Working Title: Financial Administrator

Requirements (Degree/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree with an Accounting major and a minimum of three years accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with systems software
  • Experience with fiscal year budgeting and planning, month/year-end accounting and audit functions, accounts payable/receivable, cash and investment management, and fixed asset accounting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively in a job sharing environment
  • Self-motivated, work well under pressure and in a team environment, and ability to handle several projects at one time

Responsibilities:

  • Organize, direct, and evaluate the day-to-day financial management of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation's assets to ensure fiscal integrity of records and compliance with appropriate state and system regulations and policies.
  • Continually monitor and evaluate cash handling and cash management processes to optimize return on assets.
  • Review and administer all capital purchasing and leasing agreements and related financial interactions.
  • Prepare, analyze and present financial policies and financial reports to University and Foundation staff.
  • Assign and supervise accounting and related operational functions performed by staff and students.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that serve as a resource in processing information.
  • Continuously monitor and implement changes to financial systems and procedures to ensure efficient and timely service to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, financial institutions and donors.
  • Manage the online donation program and financial interaction between the University and Foundation.
  • Coordinate annual independent audit.
  • Develop annual budget and analyze actual expenses for the Advancement Division.
  • Manage state accounts for the Foundation.

Start Date:

August 11, 2008 or as soon as possible

Salary:

Commensurate with experience/standard benefit package

Terms of Appointment:

One year fixed term; academic staff; .75 FTE (30 hours per week)
