Requirements (Degree/Experience):
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university; a minimum of five years demonstrated experience in development/facilitation of educational outreach programs within a higher education setting; evidence of excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated evidence of being creative and resourceful; ability to excel in a complex decentralized and highly competitive environment; self-starter who is comfortable working independently; decisive, yet able to function effectively within a team concept; able to work with diverse populations, including people of all ages with various racial, ethnic, educational and socio-economic backgrounds; able to interact professionally and comfortably with faculty, peers, administrators and various members of the public; have an understanding of the needs of adult students; ability and willingness to travel periodically and work on weekends, early mornings, and evenings.

Responsibilities:
Extend the resources of the university into the region by providing high quality educational outreach opportunities for learners of all ages to enrich their lives and enhance their professional qualifications; work with a wide range of constituencies including faculty, staff and external business, government and community based organizations; develop innovative progressive programming; identify new markets to position professional development and personal development programs for future growth and success through market analysis, and input from internal and external advisory groups; develop and monitor fiscally responsible program budgets; hire and recruit instructors; and oversee programmatic marketing/promotional activities. Serve as university liaison with UW Oshkosh's Learning in Retirement organization.

Preferences:

  • Masters degree
  • Working knowledge of Continuing Education Extension programs
  • Evidence of supervisory skills

Start Date:
January, 2010 , or as soon as possible

Salary:
Competitive and commensurate with experience

Terms of Appointment:
Continuing, full-time, 12 month, academic staff appointment
