Admissions Counselor/Student Recruitment Specialist for Native American population - 425b.0708Department: Admissions Requirements (Degree/Experience): Bachelor's degree; significant experience working with Native American communities; excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a member of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh undergraduate recruitment and enrollment team. The admissions counselor/student recruitment specialist will serve as a University ambassador and a liaison for prospective first year and transfer students, parents, high school staff, Wisconsin Indian Educators and other community members throughout the state and beyond. The position duties will specifically focus on the recruitment, enrollment and support of the Native American population.
All staff are expected to exhibit strengths in the admissions office core competencies of customer relations, flexibility, productivity, cooperation, valuing diversity, communication and leadership. Each member also exhibits and supports the admissions office primary values of trust, honesty, respect, teamwork and cooperation. Preferences: Master's degree; experience in recruitment or other student services at a secondary or post-secondary level Start Date: August 1, 2008 or as soon as possible Salary: Competitive Terms of Appointment: Full-time, annual appointment.
