Responsibilities
The Program Manager is an administrative professional responsible for the development and implementation of off-campus study programs, off-campus study advising, and promotion of off-campus study. The Program manager generally assists the International Student Advisor (ISA) with programming related to International Student Services and has federal regulatory responsibilities related to the UW Oshkosh F-1 and J-1 International Student & Scholar Programs. This position reports to the Director, with oversight provided by both the Director & the ISA.

This position has a high degree of programmatic involvement and requires a high degree of familiarity with OIE programs, events, policies and procedures.

Requirements (Degree/Experience):

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree;
  • Experience developing and implementing faculty-led study abroad programs, travel tours or similar;
  • Significant experience living, working, studying and/or traveling abroad;
  • Significant experience developing and administering budgets;
  • Intermediate or Advanced proficiency in MS Office 2000 (Word, Excel, Access); Ability to learn additional software packages as required;
  • Ability to serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Assistant Responsible Officer (ARO) for F & J student programs (must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, per federal regulations) is required.

  • Ability to independently address & solve complex issues through teamwork and consultation;
  • Ability to make decisions with potential impact on international students and the University's ability to fulfill federal mandates;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically with a diverse group of individuals and to communicate clearly and effectively wtih non-native speakers of English, all in a service-oriented environment ;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to prepare clear, concise and grammatically correct correspondence (via email and mail) and reports and to give clear, concise information while advising;
  • Relevant Master's degree;
  • Familiarity with web development software:

*International travel may also be a possibility by is not guaranteed.

*Infrequent evening and weekend responsibilities will be required.

Start Date:
July 1, 2009 or within two weeks of offer

Salary:
Competitive

Terms of Appointment:
12-month, renewable
