Assistant Professor-Advertising - 061a.0910

Journalism

Requirements (Degree/Experience):
Master's in an area of design, such as an MFA.

Responsibilities:
The position is to teach strategic communications in the department's advertising sequence. The person must be able to teach courses from among the the following: Principles of Advertising; Advertising Copy, Layout and Production; Strategic Campaigns in Advertising; Advertising Media; and Research in Strategic Communication. Ability to advise student groups, to teach outside the advertising sequences, including courses such as Introduction to Journalism and Mass Communication and Visual Media Design, and to participate in the development of new courses using interactive technology is highly desirable.

Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates who have a doctorate in a communications area or a relevant field. Professional experience in strategy, creative development and execution of strategic communication is desired, particularly related to advertising.
