Position Title:

AmeriCorps Case Manager - 211a.0708

Responsibilities:

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Center for Career Development and Employability Training (CCDET), contracted by Serve Wisconsin, provides technical assistance services and training to AmeriCorps members serving in area schools and non-profit agencies.

The Case Manager for the Minimum Time AmeriCorps Members is responsible for recruiting, supervising, and monitoring service hours for those AmeriCorps members serving 300 hour (MT) placements. The majority of these members will be University human service and social work students doing unpaid field placements. The MT Case Manager works in coordination with other AmeriCorps staff to implement and maintain an effective AmeriCorps program, including required record keeping. Because recruitment of these members occurs at the beginning of each semester, workload is heavier at the beginning of the semester, and again at the end of the semester or end of the member service. The MT case manager also coordinates with internship offices on the campus of UW Oshkosh and at other area campuses in AmeriCorps recruitment efforts.

Requirements (Degree/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated record of successfully setting and meeting goals and leading people
  • Experience with volunteers, internships and/or service programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office

Preferences:

  • Experience with AmeriCorps or other Corporation for National Service programs or other federal programs
  • Experience working in a University setting with students and staff
  • Eligible to drive 15 passenger van

Starting Date:

September 4, 2007

Salary:

Competitive

Terms of Appointment:

25% Academic Staff Annual Terminal
