Hiring a Limited Term Employee
Contact the Human Resources Office to receive pre-approval to fill the position. After the position has been discussed with the Human Resources, a limited term employee (LTE) request form must be completed and signed by the department chair or supervisor. Attach one copy of the position description to the request form (also send an electronic copy to Jo Fenrich, firstname.lastname@example.org) and route for signature approval.
Human Resources will provide you with the classification and recommended pay rate.
If you do not have a candidate for your LTE position, Human Resources will refer applicants to you from a pool of available applicants or will place a job ad on your behalf.
Limited term employees must meet the qualifications for entry into the classification of the position being filled. LTEs do not have to compete in Civil Service Examinations.
