Lump Sum Payments
Effective October 1, 2009 — Lump Sum Payments are required by job, not by student.
All students must be paid through the hourly process unless the job responsibilities fall within the UW System criteria for being paid through a lump sum process, e.g. community advisers in the Department of Residence Life. Exceptions to paying students through the hourly process must be pre-approved by the Human Resources Office.
If you wish to pay a student via lump sum, a lump sum payment request form must be completed prior to the student employee working that appointment (email@example.com). The job description form will be reviewed by Human Resources and an e-mail will be sent to you within 24 hours of Human Resources receiving the completed form.
