Limited Term Employment Opportunity - Custodian

Human Resources is now accepting applications to fill limited term employment (LTE) custodian positions as they occur on campus. 

Duties include but not limited to cleaning: bathrooms, classrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, landings, pool area, gyms, handball courts, weight rooms, locker rooms, lobbies, entrances, etc.; set-up/take-down furniture for special events, moves, work orders, etc.; remove ice and snow from entrances and walks; keep utility rooms stocked and in order; operate motor vehicle, test fire alarms. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: attention to detail; ability to follow directions; ability to assess workload and prioritize daily tasks;strong customer service skills; ability to perform physical labor including: heavy lifting, bending, stooping, twisting and other motions; ability to work both independently as well as part of a team; ability to understand safety regulations and perform work in a safe manner at all times utilizing safety and personal protection equipment when necessary.

Custodian positions may require the operation and maintenance of power equipment to include, but not limited to: vacuums (upright, tank, wet/dry, portable), shampooers (upholstery, extraction, bonneting), floor scrubbers, floor buffers, pressure washers and various accessories for the above machines.  Custodians may come in contact with blood-borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Training will be required in the use of proper cleaning methods and protective equipment.


Duration :  maximum of six months (full time)
Wage : 9.00/hour
Work Schedule :  fixed daily schedule to be determined by Supervisor

Note: this position does not qualify for benefits or paid leave (vacation, holidays, etc.)
