Responsibilities

The Counseling Center values clinical excellence, collaboration, time sensitive therapy, and has a deep commitment to the personal and academic development of university students. The staff represents a diversity of theoretical approaches and practices.

General responsiblities: individual assessment and counseling, group counseling, career counseling, crisis intervention, supervision and outreach, as well as consultation and outreach services for employees in the Counseling Center based EAP.

Requirements

Doctoral degree (or ABD with solid completion date) in clinical or counseling psychology, counselor education or closely related field; ability to meet Wisconsin licensure requirements within one year of hire; demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities in multicultural counseling and consultation; ability to collaborate with the campus community to enhance engagement with diverse student groups (e.g. race, ethnicity, LGBTQ, gender, SES); experience providing psychological services to students in a university counseling center.

Preferences

Experience and commitment to working with men's issues; evidence of strong generalist skills with experience or knowledge and commitment to providing: group treatment, crisis intervention, treatment to persons with serious mental health problems, outreach, psychodiagnostic assessment, brief counseling, career counseling, and clinical supervision.

Terms of Appointment

Full time 9-month academic staff continuing contract, with a 2-month summer contract.
