Previous Year Important Information

Each October during the "Dual-Choice Enrollment" period you are able to change health plans and change from single to family coverage without restrictions.  This year for the first time the information and materials will be provided electronically via your campus email account instead of in hard-copy booklet form.

Here's more information:

1. Working cooperatively with the Department of Employee Trust Funds, the UW System Service Center, and UW Oshkosh Academic Computing, Human Resources will send emails during the week of October 1st to those faculty, academic and classified staff eligible for various benefit changes during the "Dual-Choice Enrollment" period of October 8 - 26, 2007. If you are eligible for more than one benefit change you can expect to receive more than one email from us, e.g. health insurance, employee reimbursement account, dental insurance, vision insurance.
   
   
2. After distribution, these emails will be placed onto the Human Resources web page at http://www.uwosh.edu/hr/benefits/benefitdualchoice.php for your convenience.
   
   
3. These emails will include the website link to the "2008 It's Your Choice" book, which details changes to uniform benefits, the descriptions of the health plans, the notable plan and program changes, etc.  We will also include direction to information in the "It's Your Choice" book that you will want to use to evaluate whether you should change your benefits, and how to change plans or coverage.  No action is necessary if you do not want to change plans or change coverage.
   
   
4. We will have a limited number of "2008 It's Your Choice" books in hard copy form.  You can review one of these in the Human Resources Office, Dempsey 328.
   
   
5. At this time, in the absence of the 2008-09 pay plans and the passage of the new state budget, you will continue to pay 2007 insurance premiums into 2008.
