On April 14, 2012, the UHP hosted 24 students to Chicago for a South Asian-themed adventure. The trip began with a personally guided tour of the Indian, Southeast Asian, and Himalayan art collection at the Art Institute. The afternoon was left open for students to explore the rest of the Art Institute's extensive exhibits, to enjoy the many options available for lunch, to sightsee, and to indulge in some of the great shopping in Chicago's South Loop. |

Seated in their beautiful dining room, the tasting menu included such classic dishes as samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, palak paneer, baigan bhartha, lamb biryani, and a variety of breads and delicious sauces. |

After dinner, the final stop was the Chicago Symphony Orchestra-sponsored performance of Zakir Hussain and the Masters of Percussion. Mr. Hussain, a legend in contemporary Indian Classical music, dazzled a packed house with an exuberant assortment of South Asian percussionists. |
