Admission Requirements for the University Honors Program
Students with qualifying GPA's who graduate in the top 10 percent of their class at an accredited high school and earn a composite score of 26 or higher on the ACT are eligible to enroll in the UHP when they are admitted to UW Oshkosh as freshmen.
Students who automatically qualify will receive information about the Program from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. These students need only to return the Honors invitation postcard to the UHP Office (Dempsey 146) to confirm their acceptance.
Motivated students who do not meet all three of these criteria are invited to present evidence of high academic potential along with a letter of petition and a copy of their high school transcript to the UHP Director:

Petitions will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Current UW Oshkosh and Transfer Students
If students earn a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher after the first semester of their freshman year, they will receive an invitation to join the UHP, regardless of high school performance.
Students who transfer to UW Oshkosh from an accredited college or university and have a record of high academic achievement may also receive an invitation to join the program. Transfer students with less than 45 credits who are interested in participating in the UHP should meet with the Associate Advisor to determine how many Honors requirements they need to complete. Those with 45 or more credits may be eligible for the UHP's Transfer Student Pathway.
