Psychology 302: Honors Psychology of Abnormal Behavior (SS)* (3 Credits)
- Prerequisites: Prior enrollment in Psychology 101/104, and enrolled in good standing in the UHP with prior or concurrent enrollment in HNRS 175.
This course is designed to further understanding of behavior which our society defines as abnormal or deviant. With an emphasis on theories of psychopathology, each of the various classifications of psychopathological behavior will be examined, along with their respective treatment interventions. A second major goal of the course will be to raise social awareness and assist the student in developing attitudes of compassion and tolerance. It is recommended that students undertake a volunteer experience in the mental health field while taking this course.
*Please note that this course will only satisfy a general education requirement for those who enrolled prior to the fall 2013 semester. The course will only satisfy the major requirement for those taking part in the University Studies Program.
