Attention, Honors juniors and seniors! We welcome you to attend this semester's Honors Senior Capstone Meeting on Wednesday, February 10, at 4:00 in the student lounge in Oviatt House. If you have not yet decided which capstone route to take, this meeting is for you! The two capstone options will be described in detail plus there will be ample time for Q&A. The information presented can help you reach the decision that suits you--and your graduation timeline--best.
If you are a resident of District 6220 (northern Wisconsin and most of Michigan's upper peninsula) and are interested in graduate studies outside of the United States beginning fall 2016, we invite you to consider the Rotary District 6220 Global Scholar Program. Significant financial support is awarded to students who meet specific criteria and who wish to study or work in such fields as peace and conflict resolution; disease prevention and treatment; water and sanitation; maternal and child health; education and literacy; or economic and community development. For information and to apply, please see the grant materials:

The University Honors Student Association invites you on Wednesday, December 2, for Craft Night! As you prepare for your final exams and projects, it's important to take a break. Reduce stress and recharge before more studying by gathering with friends and getting creative. There will be snowflakes, tree decorating, and cookies! See you on December 2nd beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Scott Hall main lounge.
Please join us on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, at 4:30 in OVIATT HOUSE when the University Honors Student Association's guest alum will be Kayla Oberstadt. A Human Services major/Sociology minor (2012), Kayla was also a heralded member of the track + field and volleyball teams. She earned her master's at The Ohio State University in the spring and recently returned to the Fox Valley, where she is employed with Winnebago County as its 4-H Youth Development Educator. Kayla is excited to meet students currently working their way through their Honors and major requirements and will also describe her academic and professional journeys, offer advice, and explain her new role and the circumstances that drew her to this particular career. Food and beverages will be provided, and all friends are welcome to come along. Hope to see you Monday afternoon!
It is always a good day in the UHP when we hear from Honors graduates. It is an even better one when we have the chance to reconnect in person. ALYSSA BRUNNER, an English major and Journalism minor (2013), was in town recently, and we were honored to be included on her campus stops. Alyssa is working in La Crosse, Wisconsin, as an editor for Kaplan Professional. In spring 2015, she was promoted to Editorial Specialist. Alyssa, we wish you the best in your pursuits and much continued success. If YOU'RE an Honors Alumn, we hope you will call, email, or stop by Oviatt House when you're in the area. And if you have not done so already, please complete our online form:
