Vienna Gateway to Eastern Europe and an Historic Cultural Crossroad "I never knew the old Vienna before the war, with its Strauss music, its glamour and easy charm ..." The Third Man (by Graham Greene, 1949) For two weeks, the multicultural city of Vienna, Austria will provide a backdrop for the liberal studies course: Cultural and Values taught by Dr. John Minniear. Once the capital of the Holy Roman Empire, Vienna has long been one of the major cultural centers of Europe, reknown for its achievements in the arts, sciences and music. One of two 3-week courses in the European Odyssey program, the final week of Culture and Values will be taught in Rome, Italy after the "Spring Break." |
