Welcome to Our Picture Gallery

As we pulled into the Paris Gare de Bercy Sunday morning, we were warmly welcomed by UW Oshkosh professor Simon Sibelman and Frederic, the 2009 Odyssey program's European major domo. The morning could not have been more beautiful. With our new transportation passes, we made our way into the heart of Paris and to the hostel... only a street away from theMusée Louvre. No longer burdened by our increasingly cumbersome luggage, we set off to explore Paris on already tired and underfeed "shank's ponies." From the Musée Louvre to Notre Dame, the Panthéon to the Jardins Tuilières, the Tour Eiffel to the Arc de Triomphe and the Sacré Coeur under a star lit night... Paris seemed to be anticipating our arrival. As our pictures will attest, we, too, had been awaiting Paris.

A two-day trip to Normandy concluded our stay in France. Highlights of the visit were the Caen Memorial, the Normandy beaches, the American and German cemeteries and the Bayeux tapistry.

After our delightful stay in Paris and our recent visit to Normandy, the time came for our final move of the Odyssey across the Channel to England for our concluding week. It was an easy transfer via the RER to the Gare du Nord and the Eurostar Terminal where we boarded a morning "Chunnel" train for London. In just 2 hours and 15 minutes, we were pulling into the new London Eurostar Terminal at St. Pancras Station for our last week of adventure.
