European Odyssey

2009

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (tentative)

"The Venice of the North"

"In Amsterdam the water is the mistress and the land the vassal. Throughout the city there are as many canals and drawbridges as bracelets on a Gypsy's bronzed arms."

Dr. Felix Marti-Ibanez, Professor, New York Medical College

Our first "Port of Call" is the creatively engineered North Atlantic city of Amsterdam. Where better to start the first course of the European Odyssey Program...European Geography, taught by Dr. Heike Alberts. The unique urban environment of low-lying, canal-riddled Amsterdam will be thoroughly studied during our first week. The centrally located, first- rate student hostel with an exceptional classroom will provide an unforgettable introduction to old-world Europe where 21st century initiative and ingenuity abound. You will experience no language barrier here as the Dutch pride themselves in their remarkable English language fluency.
