Event Information
5:30 p.m. Activities
Come make your own personalized Take Back the Night sign or a wristband to walk in honor of a victim, view t-shirts made for the Clothesline Project as testimony to the problem of violence against women or join us in the Drum Circle.
We will also have resource tables from community agencies.
6 p.m. Rally
The rally is a time for us to learn more about domestic and sexual violence and hear from survivors and allies as they talk about their experiences with domestic and sexual violence in their lives.
6:45 p.m. March
We will be walking from Polk Library to Winnebago County Courthouse (415 Jackson) via High Avenue and Division Street. Drummers will lead the procession and stop for a moment of silence in front of Christine Ann Center. The march will proceed in silence to the courthouse.
7:15 p.m. Closing at Courthouse
The closing starts as a candlelight vigil to remember the lives lost to violence. A representative from Voices of Men will lead the group in taking a pledge to intervene to stop violence in their lives and community.
