Student Success Services
Opening in fall 2010, the Student Success Center brings academic advising, career services, tutoring services and the University’s student counseling center under one roof.
Academic AdvisingAt UW Oshkosh, academic advising begins at orientation. Through the Undergraduate Academic Resource Center (UARC), our dedicated advisers will guide in you selecting a major, registering for classes and planning for your future. |
Career Services
Build your skills and self-confidence with help from the University's Career Services staff. Develop a résumé, brush up on your interviewing skills, plan a job shadowing experience or land a job. |

Center for Academic Resources
All undergraduate students have access to free tutoring though the Center for Academic Resources (CAR). Here, you can find a peer tutor or attend supplemental instruction for a specific class. |
Counseling Center
The Counseling Center provides a variety of free and confidential services that will help you be successful at UWO. Our staff will help you develop life skills to cope with your situation. |

English Language Support
Non-native English speakers can receive help with processing course materials, speaking and writing English, and understanding English grammar. Tutoring appointments can be made by contacting the Center for Academic Resources. |
Writing CenterFor help with writing, students can make an appointment for one-on-one peer tutoring in the Writing Center. Peer tutors can assist you in all phases of the writing process. |
In addition to the Center for Academic Resources, students can also take advantage of the University's free tutoring services offered through the following centers.
Math LabsIf math is your challenge, take advantage of the Mathematics Department’s drop-in tutoring labs located in Swart. The Developmental Math Lab supports students in Math 100 or 103, while the Math Lab assists students in all other math courses. |
Reading Study CenterServing students of all skill levels, the Reading Study Center helps students develop efficient learning strategies. Located in Nursing Education 202A, classes and workshops are offered in building study skills, managing test anxiety and more. |
Equity and Diversity Services
Located just one block down the road from the Student Success Center, the Center for Equity and Diversity is home to numerous support services for all students.
Center for Academic Support and Diversity (CASD)A one-stop academic help center for multicultural students and first-generation, low-income and/or disabled students, CASD offers additional academic advising, tutoring, student success forums, workshops and cultural programs. |
Student Support Services (SSS)A government supported program, SSS has an excellent track record of working with qualified first-generation, low-income and/or disabled students to help them meet their academic potential. |
