Keynote Speaker: Dr. Gay Ivey
Dr. Ivey is the Tashia F. Morgridge Chair in Reading at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A former middle school reading specialist, she received her Ph.D. in Reading Education at the University of Georgia and held faculty positions at Rutgers University, the University of Maryland at College Park, and James Madison University before joining the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at UW-Madison in August 2012.
Dr. Ivey's research centers on engaged reading and the social contexts that support it, particularly for inexperienced readers. The author of several books, she has published a range of articles in journals such as Reading Research Quarterly, The Reading Teacher, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, Educational Leadership, Voices from the Middle, and Phi Delta Kappan.
