The Center for Academic Support and Diversity and the Black Student Union invite you to join us as we celebrate Black History Month in February.  This national observance held annually is a great opportunity for UW Oshkosh faculty, staff and students to reflect upon the achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout U.S. history.

Tuesday, February 19 - African American Studies Film Series: The Interrupters

A year in the life of a city grappling with urban violence, tells moving and surprising

stories of how the three Violence Interrupters try to protect their Chicago communities.

Facilitator: Dr. Caryn Murphy (Communication)

Thursday, February 21 - Black Student Union Meeting

Social and cultural opportunities and updates on campus events. Everyone welcome!

Everyone welcome! Free to UWO students.

 Monday, February 25 - African American Studies Film Series: Ballast

A drama set in the Mississippi delta where one man's suicide affects three people's lives.

Facilitator: Dr. Paul Van Auken (Sociology)

Thursday, February 28 - Soul Food Sample Luncheon

Come taste southern style cuisine just like mama use to make!
