Loiacono a Fulbright scholar in Hungary
In the Spring of 2013, Assistant Professor Gabriel Loiacono and his family spent the semester in Pecs, Hungary, where Loiacono was a Fulbright Scholar for the semester. His job was to teach three courses in American history to Hungarian English majors at the University, all the while studying how Hungarians viewed American history. It turns out that Hungarian university students were intensely interested in the Cold War, Barack Obama, the CIA, Native American history, and African-American history. Other impressions of Loiacono's can be found at his blog: <oshkoshtopecs.blogspot.com>. According to Professor Loiacono: “It was a very successful and enjoyable semester, in a beautiful part of Hungary: a hilly wine region.” While there, a new Loiacono was born: a baby girl. Congratulations Gabe and Andrea!
