Hooray for Hollywood!…..Anna Yarish takes her research to Tinseltown

Anna Yarish holds a program from the 22nd Annual Academy Awards in 1950. The program belonged to Ruth Goodman Goetz, playwright and screenwriter, whose personal papers were transported to the UWO Archives for Anna

History major Anna Yarish’s is fascinated by the careers and lives of women working in Hollywood during the 1940s. Earlier this year, she applied for a UWO Student-Faculty Collaborative Grant and was awarded $3,000 to pursue her research interests. In January Anna is traveling to Beverly Hills and spending ten days researching personal papers, scrapbooks, and photos relating to films such as Alfred Hitchcock's Notorious and Spellbound at the Margaret Herrick Library. In addition, she will be analyzing the personal papers of Katharine Hepburn, Edith Head, and screenwriter Sara Y. Mason.
