Six, 90-minute panel sessions will discuss several subjects related to how the war has impacted American  society, politics and families. Topics that will be addressed in the sessions include:

  • The role of journalists and photojournalists in covering the war
  • The war experience as a source of veteran art and literature
  • The war's impact on military spouses and families
  • Understanding and treating post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Wartime dissent on the home front
  • The war's geopolitical consequences
  • U.S. military strategic and operational perspectives
  • The soldiers' experience in war

The keynote plenary address will be by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dexter Filkins, author of The Forever War.
