Chemistry Major, Healthcare Science Emphasis.

Recommended for students seeking a rigerous undergraduate program in chemistry and who are planning a career in medicine, dentistry, or other healthcare related field which requires postgraduate training.  The Honors version of any course listed may be substituted.

 

Required units (crs.): 73 minimum

Required Courses: In addition to the core courses:

·        Biology (20-23 crs.): 105, 112, 211 or 308, 212 or 319, 323, 343.

·        Chemistry (10 crs.): 303 or 305, 421, 470.

·        Philosophy (3 crs.): Philosophy 105 or 311 (this counts towards the General Education Humanities requirement.)

·        Psychology (6 crs.):

o       One of these introductory courses: 101, 104 or 110.

o       One of these advanced courses: 220, 280, 291, 303, 331, 338, 355, or 390.

      (this counts towards the General Education Social Science requirement.)

·        Senior Capstone (3 crs.): Choose from any of the following:

o       Chemistry 246, 446, 474, or 495.

o       Interdisciplinary Studies 366, 367, or 399.
