Undergraduates may apply for participation in the following student research activities.

UW System Symposium for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

Every two yeas the UW System Symposium is held at a different UW System campus. The 2012 event will be held at UW-Parkside on April 27, 2012.

The Symposium gives undergraduate students in all disciplines an opportunity to present their scholarly work on topics from artistic expressions to scientific research through oral presentations, poster displays, gallery exhibits and artistic performances.

Posters in the Rotunda

Held in Madison every Spring, Posters in the Rotunda provides University of Wisconsin undergraduates with an opportunity to show their research to legislators, state leaders and UW alumni. If you are interested in presenting, please ask your faculty adviser if he or she will send a nomination to the Office of Grants and Faculty Development.

National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR)

NCUR is a chance for undergraduates from all fields and disciplines nationwide to to showcase their creative and scholarly work through posters, oral presentations, visual arts and performances at this annual event. Unlike meetings of academic professional organizations, this gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all corners of the academic curriculum. Through this annual conference, with more than 2,000 students and their faculty mentors in attendance, NCUR creates a unique environment for the celebration and promotion of undergraduate student achievement. Posters on the Hill

Seventy-five competitively selected undergraduates from more than 50 colleges and universities nationwide meet with their congressional delegation and present their research in the U.S. Capitol. Each student presents his or her research, displayed on posters, to the members of Congress, congressional staff members, federal government officials and others in attendance. This event will help members of Congress understand the importance of undergraduate research by talking directly with the students whom these programs impact.
