Mentor Program

In this year-long program, faculty and instructional academic staff with Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) experience are paired with participants new to SoTL for dialogue related to scholarly investigation of teaching and learning. This program is designed to prepare UW Oshkosh scholars to conduct SoTL inquiry via supportive relationships with published SoTL researchers.

The mentoring program, both one-on-one and in a small group, allows for intellectually stimulating conversation that keeps me motivated and pointed in the right direction. ~Karen Gibson

Meeting at least monthly, each mentoring pair will be guided through the process with coaching and resources as needed. Participants will participate in whole group dialogue sessions in October, fall interim and spring interim. By the spring interim meeting, mentees will have developed a scholarly teaching and learning research idea and be ready to propose for project funding and/or implementation in fall.

Each participant will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the program.

Judy Lambert (Reading Education), coordinator of the Mentoring Program, will provide guidance to each mentoring pair and will facilitate group dialogues. Dr. Lambert may be e-mailed with any questions about this program at cetl@uwosh.edu.
